NCI Security Information

All visitors will be asked to submit to a security screening upon entering the building. Visitors will be required to show one (1) form of identification (a government-issued photo ID, U.S. driver's license, passport, green card, etc.). Attendees will be escorted from the security area to the registration desk each morning.

Getting to the NCI Campus

Shuttle From Hotels: A complimentary shuttle is being provided to transport attendees from the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center hotel to the NCI campus. The shuttle schedule will be provided closer to the meeting date.

Metrorail/Subway: The NCI Shady Grove Campus is accessible by Metrorail on the Red Line at the Shady Grove Metro Station. NCI offers a complimentary shuttle service to/from the campus to the Shady Grove Station. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes. A riding pass must be obtained to use the shuttle. Please email conferences@luminacorps.com to request a pass.

Parking: Visitors should park in the multilevel parking garage located across from the 9609 Medical Center Drive building. Parking is complimentary. Parking receipts must be validated before exiting the building.

Hotel Information

A room block has been established at the following nearby hotel for the nights of September 7 and a limited number on September 8 for those unable to depart at the end of the meeting. Please contact the hotel directly to reserve your room. You are responsible for all hotel costs and will be asked to provide a credit card to cover expenses.

The closest airport to Workshop hotels is the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA); however, Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) also serve the Washington, DC, area.

Amtrak is an alternate travel option for those traveling on the East Coast (https://www.amtrak.com).

Travel Time to Hotel from Airports and Amtrak
Travel time is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, Baltimore-Washington International Airport, and Washington Union Station. Travel time is dependent upon traffic. Travelers may choose to take a taxi or car service such as Uber or Lyft to and from the airport/train station.

Food

Please note that food and beverages will NOT be provided during the meeting; attendees will be responsible for getting their own meals at their own cost.

The NCI building cafeteria will be closed on the day of the meeting. Therefore, attendees are encouraged to obtain breakfast, coffee, and other refreshments from the hotel or from one of the eateries that are adjacent to the building: Passion Bakery Café, Subway, or Freshii.

For lunch, participants are encouraged to pre-order boxed lunches from Fresh Fork Catering and have them delivered to the NCI Shady Grove campus. The deadline to place a lunch order is Thursday, August 31.
