CALL FOR POSTERS and GRANTEE RESOURCES EXHIBIT


All Principal Investigators (PIs) are asked to provide the following for participation at the Summit: Poster Presentation and (2) Project-developed Resource Material.

Poster Presentation

Abstracts (not to exceed 250 words) should include:

  • Program title
  • Key program objectives
  • Geographic area(s) covered and specific populations reached
  • Key program partners
  • Up to three key findings from research conducted and/or three key interventions conducted within the past 18 months
  • Future intervention/research/activities
  • Evaluation plans or results from previous evaluations
  • Lessons learned to date

Posters should include:
  • Project title
  • Name and address of grantee institution
  • Photo of the PI (optional)
  • Information requested in the abstract (described above)
  • 100 copies of a summary of your poster on 8.5" X 11" sheets of paper, for placement in folders attached to the poster boards

One 4' X 8' poster display board will be available for each project.

Abstract Deadline: Monday, May 22

Participants may bring posters with them to the Summit, or send them to the hotel in advance of arrival to the following address:

Include the following information on your package label:
  • Your NAME and POSTER BOARD NUMBER
  • Conference name: CHD Summit 2006
  • Event Manager: Megan Bissett
  • Meeting dates: July 17–19, 2006
  • Final delivery destination: Grand Ballroom A–E by 7:30 a.m., July 17

The Event Services Department will ensure that your boxes and materials are brought to the Grand Ballroom by 7:30 a.m. on July 17.

If you have any other instructions for delivery of your boxes (e.g., if you need to locate your materials upon check-in on Sunday, July 16) please notify Megan Bissett (direct phone: 301-822-9721, e-mail: ), and she will ensure that your instructions are followed.

Please do not ship your materials to arrive more than 72 hours in advance of the meeting, as you will incur a storage charge for materials that must be stored longer than 72 hours.

Set-up: 8:00 – 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 17

Teardown: 10:00 – 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 19

Project-Developed Education Resources and Program Planning Exhibit

This exhibit will display educational materials that each project has developed to meet the needs of the community. Please complete and submit a Grantee Resource Checklist for your resource. Checklist information will be cataloged and made available at the Summit as part of a Grantee Resources and Contact List.

Deadline for Grantee Resource Checklist: Monday, May 22

Send your completed Grantee Resource Checklist to Kimberly Henderson, CRCHD, NCI, 6116 Executive Blvd., Suite 602, Rockville, MD 20852, , by Monday, May 22.

Deadline for Grantee Resource Sample: Friday, June 16

Please submit samples of your community or provider resource to Kimberly Henderson, CRCHD, NCI, 6116 Executive Blvd., Suite 602, Rockville, MD 20852, no later than June 16.

Types of cancer awareness/education program resources include, but are not limited to:
  • Training curricula and kits
  • Print materials
  • Internet tools
  • Videos and Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
    • In-language community or provider videos, or mass media PSAs
Types of program planning tools include, but are not limited to:
  • Needs assessment instruments and results
  • Formative research questionnaire and findings
  • Other research or survey instruments

Please note: electronic resources such as videos or Web-based tools can only be displayed. We are unable to play a video or computer tool.
