William Redd's current research addresses five broad areas: (1) classical (Pavlovian) conditioning during cancer treatment; (2) cognitive-behavioral intervention to reduce distress during invasive medical procedures; (3) psychobehavioral factors in nonadherence to cancer screening guidelines; (4) long-term adjustment in mothers of bone marrow transplant survivors; and (5) post-traumatic stress disorders in cancer. A major component of his current clinical research is the study of ways to increase participation in colorectal cancer screening among medically underserved minority groups.
