Ms. Duglas-Tabor holds bachelor's degrees in Biology and Computer Science. As a biologist for the National Eye Institute, she studied the role of protein modifications in the development of cataracts in the lens of the eye. She joined the Cancer Immunology and Hematology Branch of the National Cancer Institute in 1999; the Branch facilitates research in immunology and hematology relevant to cancer biology. Research topics covered by this Branch include the immunobiology of solid tumors, leukemias, and lymphomas and the immunobiology of AIDS. Ms. Duglas-Tabor also serves as Program Director for the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants and conference grants that provide support for scientific meetings in broad areas related to cancer biology, immunology, and etiology.
